Dubai Shawarma is committed towards the protection of our customers’ privacy and therefore acts in accordance with the privacy laws of Pakistan. Our privacy policy dictates the manner in which we disclose or reveal personal information related to our customers, including the method through which we may collect or gather such kind of information. These may include relevant details provided to us by our customers via any medium, whether it is through our stores, our customer service center or our website.

How do we collect personal information?

The personal information that we acquire from our customers is meant to facilitate the operational functions of one or more of our business activities. The manner in which it is done is entirely lawful and legal.

There are several means by which personal information related to customers is collected by us. These include:

  • When customers participate in any kind of promotional activity, contest, competition, survey, market research, subscribe to our mailing list or interact with our business via any social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) or email, personal information is extracted and stored. This generally includes details relating to the customer’s name, age, postal address, telephone number, date of birth and occupation.
  • Personal information is also provided to us by customers who call in to our customer center to place an order, either by telephone or online. In certain circumstances, we may involve a third party organization such as a market research agency for the collection of customers’ personal information. In doing so, it will be ensured that the process is in accordance with Pakistani law.

We will not, however, collect sensitive information related to the customer (such as racial and ethnic origin along with political or religious beliefs) until and unless the customer has provided his/her consent and whether that is in accordance with the law. This is with exception to when an individual has applied for employment with the company or to become a franchisee with Dubai Shawarma.

Despite our maximum efforts to safeguard customers’ personal information from theft or loss, there is, unfortunately, no guarantee as far as the complete and total security of the Internet is concerned. In the rare circumstance where a breach of information has occurred, it is our duty to notify both the customer concerned as well as government services regarding the nature of the breach.

  • Processing of franchise application as well as the provision of information related to the application of becoming a franchisee along with background checks.

Apart from the purposes stated above, we at Dubai Shawarma may use customers’ personal data for processes that will be made clear to individuals at the time of collection of said personal information.

How do we disclose personal information to third parties?

There are certain situations where we may have to disclose personal information of customers as well as of individuals who have interacted with us either for the purpose of applying for a job or a franchise to certain third parties. These include:

We may also collect sensitive information related to your health or any possible criminal record you may possess. All of this will be done with your consent.

There are three reasons for which we may indulge in the collection of personal data of an applicant:

  • Evaluating the applicant for a position in our company;
  • Assessing whether the applicant is suitable to move ahead in the recruitment process;
  • Storing information of the applicant for future employment opportunities.

If an individual is unwilling or unable to provide us with his/her relevant personal data, we will not be able to conduct the above-mentioned processes for employment.

For purpose of proper evaluation and assessment, we may disclose an individual’s personal data to the following third parties:

  • References and previous employers;
  • Recruitment agencies or contractors;
  • Related entities;
  • Law enforcement agencies in the case an applicant is found possessing a criminal record;
  • Educational institutions for the purpose of verifying the applicant’s academic records.

In all circumstances where we at Dubai Shawarma engage with third parties and exchange relevant personal data of the applicant, we will ensure that the said third party will not use the personal data for any other purpose other than the one stated in the agreement.

Personal Information Related to Franchise Applications

Personal information acquired from individuals wishing to become a franchisee with Dubai Shawarma is normally the exact same information that can be found on the Franchise Application form. These include the individual’s name, postal address, telephone number, email address, educational qualifications, residency status, work experience, financial background and capacity, etc.

In order to fully assess an individual’s application for a franchise, it is necessary that we interact and obtain personal data relating to the applicant from third parties. These may include the applicant’s previous employers or other nominated references. Other sensitive information, such as data relating to a possible criminal record or membership of any professional or trade association, may also be acquired, subject to the applicant’s consent.

The reasons we gather personal data in the case of a franchise application are listed below:

We at Dubai Shawarma guarantee that, while engaging with third party contractors, we will ensure that the handling of personal information of the applicant is extremely secure and that it is used only for the purpose outlined in the agreement and not anything else.

Also, a small administration fee may be charged to cover the cost of an individual’s request.
